They said I am that person. So I read the Jack Reacher books and I am just a little like him. What do you think that person was trying to tell me?

I am not small but am no behemoth and am too old to fight so that's not part of it.

The books were fun but I didn't get the message.

Jack Reacher is not a cat.

I was at a big deal party with some people who think they are important and one guy there, someone who is important, showed up wearing a tux that must have set him back $10,000. I see a lot of folks in high dollar suits and this one was truly a cut above.

So I told him I had always thought of him as a cheapskate since he seemed to never pick up a check. Then I asked him if his wife had promised to leave him if he didn't get a decent tux.

He said he found it at Goodwill. It had been bespoke for a Tulsa oil jillionair who must have worn it a time or two and then grew weary of it. One of his friends called him and said he needed to see it so he drove over, tried it on, and then laid out the cash.

Total cost? $28.50 including tax. No alternations were necessary.

I told him he should have called me. I could have saved him 10% with my Senior discount.

I have to confess that I do buy work clothes at thrift stores but I buy dress shirts that fit me and they look good. Clothes look good on me. It is a perverse fun to trash out designer shirts.

Owning stuff is getting old and I have talked about that.

I haven't seen the movie yet. I'll stop in the Goodwill and see if they have a copy.
