Power Steering Fluid Color
Usually PS fluid is red but I just bought a bottle of Prestone PS fluid and its clear. Does that mean anything? Can I mix it with the red stuff thats in there (my wifes Peugeot)?

All of the power steering fluid I have ever bought has been sort of clear to amber. Red power steering fluid is usually ATF or a mix of ATF and power steering fluid. FWIW all my cars have amber colored steering fluid.

Yeah, mine's amber too. However, in the 230E, it is red...

Your power steering system probably calls for ATF. Check your owner's manual. Even the newer E-class cars still take ATF in their p/s systems.

Well as for mixing the fluids, I don't know. As for why I was up that early when I replied last, I am in the Air Force and work from 7 pm-7am(mid shift). Got to keep those planes flying 24/7.

Your reply for mixing fluids was pretty usless. But I want to thank you for the late reply and why it was so late. Keep up the good work.
And I know that shift, I used to drive taxi those hours. Got to see lots of sunrises |
