Hell, I get nervous when I don't have my seat belt on!
I'd have to be so drunk to jump out of an airplane (with or without a 'chute) that there would be no way I could guide myself into the net.

OK, jumping out of a plane with no chute. Very impressive. Landing in a 100' x 100' net doing 120mph --- priceless. You really have to have spot on aim because you do not get a fly around on this one.

I rank it right up there with handling poisonous snakes for the sake of Jesus.

I guess since he survived it he's a genius.
Only problem is what next? I watched a move on netflix about mountain climbers and the very best kept getting better and taking big risks and bigger until when they reached their fifties and a lot of them fell to their death. I have never heard of an Architect dying on the job. One famous one did but he was shot by a jealous husband so I don't think that counts. In other words my safety has always been important to me. I am a risk taker though. But I only take risks that look risky to other people but not to me....so this guy is probably the same way but in his case he is literally putting it all on the table.

The ultimate hit or miss test I guess.
He may not escape this with no long term damage because of the forces involved in that rapid of a velocity change. Stopping his human mass from a 120 mph rate to 0 mph over say thirty feet is substantial. The human body has practical G force limits. Although one person fell out of a bomber during the second world war and survived the event. The trees he crashed down through allowed his survival. |
