what was the last true original chinese invention?

this is an argument between me and the wife. she does not understand why I dislike a country that tends to copy everything from ideas to actual products.

So i asked her what was the last original idea the chinese came up with? Even with Google, she had trouble with this.

I said paper and gunpowder were the last original ideas.

The modern e-cigarette

It's actually a major improvement on an American invention from the 1960's, but with modern technology, they were the first to bring it to market.

I had heard that pasta actually had it's origins in China not Italy. Not an invention, but didn't they build an impressive wall? Kind of reminds me of some current news event. May become our newest tour attraction "The Great Wall Of The USA" if it ever happens. Make check payable to The Donald Tours LLC.

Can't imagine any respectable gearhead wouldn't give credit to this:

Bridge girder erection Machine: SLJ900

For the tech savvy out there, how about the world's fastest supercomputer - using Chinese developed processors (since the US blocked sale of high end tech to China)?

^ Winner. Go tell your wife they invented a giant erection machine. Argument over. (Feverish Googling follows.)

Would this answer the question without getting too political?
