300ce Swaybar thickness?
I would like to know the thickness of my 300CE swaybar. How would one measure this, with what, or does anyone actually have the information?
I am interested to know as I was thinking of upgrading it to a thicker bar, and a 400E bar is just calling my name. But if mines just as thick, or if the 400E bar is not going to make a noticeable difference, I'll for go the calls. Alon

I've got a caliper that I can use to measure the sway bar on my car. I'll try to do it tonight and send you the numbers. I don't know for sure, but I assume that the sway bar on my 1993 should be the same as yours. Also, el presidente just replaced his (I think) when he went with the sportline set up. He may have that info as well.
Hope your car (and body) are on the road to recovery.

Alon:
I don't have a coupe, but these are the sedan front antisway bar diameters I either measured myself, or found in the archives from other people: 500E 28 mm reported diameter Sportline 27.5mm measured diameter 300E stock 26.7mm measured diameter 400E 26.5mm reported diameter

Alon,
JCE's info sounds right. Remember new bushings if you go with a sportline or 500E setup |

How about a micrometer, like the ones you use to measure disk brake width?
Also, the one on my sdl barely looks thick enough for my miata. I don't know what the engineering considerations were in this case. |
