Brighter lights with new voltage regulator.
After replacing the voltage regulator in my 300SE the lights seemed to be much brighter. There wasn't much life left on the old one, I was driving on borrowed time. Am I just imagining this or is this possible?

I use the headlights as a voltage test if I don't have a meter.

I guess the lights must have slowly became dimmer over time so I didn't notice it.

just put a meter on the battery while its running. I remember when my 420 sel had a bad regulator the dash lights were super bright so I put a meter on the battery and I had something like 15 volts to the battery.

I should have tested it before hand to see the difference. The brushes were pretty much gone, pretty lucky I didn't get stranded.
