Anyone familiar with motorcycles?

I got into a small accident on my street bike an am having a hard time getting it running again. Once I laid it down, I couldn't get it restarted. It gets fuel, but no spark. I replaced the coils because they were old and original hoping it was fhe problem. It's a carberuated 99 ninja 600. There's also no power to the fuse box or anywhere including the ignition. Not sure if it's the ignition itself... I know bikes have those emergency shut offs when you drop the bike. Where would you look for some thing like that?

No electrical circuits work? Brake light?

Does the starter crank?

Handlebar cutoff switch damaged?

Kickstand switch damaged?

Start at the battery checking voltages.

Handlebar cutoff switch; kickstand switch??? Boy, have bikes changed since I used to ride my '58 Triumph - TR6 650.

Yes they have. I raised the stand on my 06 Stratoliner and it shut off. It startled me a bit. Only does it in gear though.

This. And it would be helpful to have a wiring diagram. If you don't have the manual you may be able to find some help on a Kawasaki forum.

Yeah probably a shut off for when the bike gets laid down with a reset button.

Start simple...check cables on battery they might have loosen from wreck. Then check all the grounds. Look on-line for resets.

Bunch of guys were out riding about 6-7 years ago. We turned off on a fork in the road where concrete met asphalt. Suddenly, the ride leader pulls off to the side and about 10-12 others pull off too. His bike, an old HD Shovelhead, had cut out on him. He starts checking wires, etc. Guy comes out of his house & gives him some tools to fish around with. Ends up hotwiring the ignition, figuring the starter went bad. A few days later he's in his garage talking to a guy on the phone and his eyes wander to the kill switch.................................. Need I say more. A dozen guys and no one looked at his kill switch.:eek::eek::D:o:D

Brake light, that's it. Turn signals do work.

Battery voltage is fine, connections are ok as well.

Traced my ignition wire from beginning to end at is has no power at the ignition. I can't seem to find anything about a reset button for a switch when its laid down to cut off fuel.. i guess my ignition is toast which seems weird to me

Those are a blast! I had a Honda ct70 for a while, perfect pit bike. Wish I still had it but a friend blew the clutch...along with the transmission.

I had the above-pictured bike, a Suzuki MT50 "trailhopper" when I was 12 years old. I think that it cost $325, which was serious bucks compared to the average lawn-mower engine powered minibike that was common back then. It had a 50cc two-stroke with oil injection which put out an entire 3 horsepower. Top speed was just 35, but it was a lot of fun.
