how fast did I go?

My son broke down going to work 65 miles from home.17 miles from my house thru town no faster than 50 mph. The rest of the trip I don't remember nor looked at speedo as I was watching for law. I did the trip in 45 minutes. What was my average speed?

Well, the average speed is easy. If you went 65 miles in 45 minutes, your average was 86.7 MPH. But the second portion was rather daring... You had to be going an average speed of about 115 MPH over the last 48 miles, if in fact you did the entire trip in 45 minutes and the first 17 miles were at 50 MPH....

no was wrong, time was 1 hour, and ten minutes going. Now the system sucks big time for working people. My son's vehicle was towed by the time he got off work. $160 to tow,and $30 a day storeage.Wonder if he can just give them the title for junk, and get his things monday?

another reason to have AAA.

In the hour and 10 minutes he was waiting for you to pick him up, he could have arranged a tow for his vehicle back to his residence or a repair location, and saved a hell of a lot of time and money he now has to put in collecting it.

You could have also arranged the tow.

he tired to get a cab,and tow.No one would answer phones down there. But it seems everything is rigged against the working man.Like here one town added $40. to their wheel tax, making it $90 to register.N.C. taxes your car every year, should be illegal,as you paid tax when you bought it.

It is tough on the working man. When a car breaks down, the decision is tough. Call into work and let them know you are going to be late? Some jobs will fire you for no show, regardless of the reason. OTH, losing a car is EXPENSIVE. If it were me, I believe I would have hung in with the car until I got a tow truck or at least a friend to assist me in getting the car home.

If the boss man doesn't understand or doesn't want to, there are always other jobs out there. I just don't like the idea of turning over a perfectly good car to the State of Misery so they can sell it at auction for five bux.

Along these lines, the State makes a h*ll of a lotta money off broke down cars on the side of the road. Yes, the cars need to be attended to. That said, there needs to be a longer grace period (doesn't a minimum of 24 hours sound FAIR?) to get the car towed to a garage or back home.
