My two new babies!!

Hey all,

Just picked these two awesome w124's up over the weekend.

[IMG][/IMG]

The gold one is a 1987 300D (240,000 miles), with one of smoothest running om603's I've ever driven! Absolutely no discernible blow-by that I can see from the oil filler cap, and no misfiring. The trap-ox was bypassed sometime ago. Still has the #14 cylinder head, but there aren't any issues that I can see.
Only issue is a small crack in the upper area of the oil pan, so I'm replacing that this weekend.

Black one is a 1995 E300 (220,000). Excellent car, but it needs some care - injectors are knocking, and it's leaking oil from what looks like the lower part of the engine. I'll have to get under the car this weekend to see. No blow-by that I can see from the oil cap method, and aside from the issues, it runs very strong.

I've always been a huge lover of mercedes diesel cars, and I get all googly-eyed everytime I see one - my girlfriend thinks I'm crazy.

I set out to get a VW TDI this last weekend, but my heart has never been in it with those cars, so, I got these instead!!

Cheers, guys. Just wanted to share.

Fantastic purchases! Went out to get a VW - comes home with two MB's. Awesome. Any plans for them or keeping as is?

hahah thanks! I got them off some random people on craigslist. (I live in san diego, ca) Just chanced upon some super cool individuals who loved driving the starcars.

Yeah, I know - those are the rims it came with lol...I didn't think much of it, but I see your point. I'll probably change them out in the foreseeable future!

I have some plans! Going to convert one of them to a 717.4 manual transmission, as soon as I can get my hands on either a wrecked donor, or perhaps if I get lucky at a pick-your-part. Either way, I haven't decided which one would be better fit for the manual...The 300D is definitely getting it's original muffler removed!

It's California. They've been thinking chrome is cool since the '70s. Lol!
