Guess what I did now?

I took that speakerphone unit I hardwired intot he car, and I now hardwired it to the fornt left factory cellphone input of the front left speaker! hehe it is now much louder and really built in. Next step is to form a nice surround for the phone unit to make it even more built in like.

nice little trick there. Hows it work? My cell phone lays on the dash or on the seat next to me.

well it just gives me full speakerphone and keeps the phone charged.

The voice comes out of the left front dash speaker, the mic is int he factory mic location, and the phone just clips in.

Works like a charm.

yeah the left fornt speaker has a secondary input for the cellphone. its a factory speaker.

I extended the wires for the mic in the unit to the area by the dome light that has a box for the factory phone memory buttons. I took out the inner pc board, and I wired the mic up to that factory mic location int he black housing that served no other purpose to me.

I then wired up to the cigarette lighter, the power for the speakerphone unit, and fused the connection as well.

I then ran speaker wire under the dash, by dropping the lower dash panel, and running the wire to the center console, under the wood, and through the black housing for the speakerphone unit.

I wired the connections up to the little board inside, and disconnected the internal speaker for the unit.

I placed the unit in the console, in some ABS plastic screwed down to the console. The carpet was cut to go around it, and since its not nice anyway I figured it doesn't matter.

I tapped into the factory speaker for the cellphone, leaving the original factory plug in, I tapped into the extra contact points on the speaker. That way I can always revert it back to full factory settings with the phone which I keep with all of its items stored away.

They do sell a similar unit to mine that interupts your fm on 88.3 band at the touch of a button. the mic is still in the base unit.

If I upgrade the stereo, no need to replace that speaker, and I wouldn't need that space for anything but a tweeter, which I already have there wired up as well to the stereo.

Need anything else?

The unit is a CCM or something for a motorola startac, works great with my dual band cdma Mercedes atrtac, that works great everywhere. no signal problems on my end.
