Different but this joke got me.
A man was fishing, and he ran out of bait.He saw a snake with a frog in its mouth, and thought frog is good bass bait.So he carefully grab behind snake's head.It could not bite anyway with frog in its mouth. He poured some jim Beam down the snakes mouth, and it let go of the frog, and passed out.
So the man fished with the frog.
Later he felt a tap on his foot,It was the snake with two Frogs.

Heh heh!

Reminds me of a tale my Dad used to tell. (True story). One day he was fishing in Dewart lake near north Webster In. He hooked a nice pike and fought it a good while until he got it near the boat and the fish broke the line. He looked in his tackle box and tied on another lure identical to the other except a different size. He cast out in the same place as before and soon had a large pike on.

This time he landed it and there in its jaw was his first lure right next to the second one.

Pike aren't all that intelligent I suppose.

Aggressive as hell though and I have lost them close to the boat as well. Perhaps they were just hungry where we fished them years ago. I doubt this though.

Reminds me of a time and a buddy went fishing, he cast out and after a bit reeled in and his line had been cut and his leader, hook and bait were gone. Put on a new leader hook and bait and cast back out. After a bit he reeled back in and there was a crab clinging to his bait with one claw and in the other claw was his other cut line with leader hook and bait. lol

Yeah, crabs aren't too bright either.

The Pike was no doubt nesting. They'll strike anything near when nesting.
