Tesla Stock Tumble
Apparently Tesla is running in all sorts of trouble and losing the trust of investors. Do you think it is a permanent downward spiral or just a temporary correction?

I have no knowledge but from what I have seen and heard around, I hopefully feel it is temporary.

If it drops like that a few more times it will be close to being inline with it's true valuation.

I'm sure the news of large numbers of people losing their jobs didn't help their stock prices. I know a few people in management at their plant, and worker confidence and morale is low. They're not hitting their numbers to be profitable on their new line of vehicles. The company itself is solid, but there much back biting and such in their management teams, creating more issues than there should be.

Tsla market cap is $51 billion, Fords is $49 billion. In regards to the number of sales/production/profit Tsla can't hold a candle to Ford and should probably be priced less than $50/share.

I remember reading about an analyst during an Enron conference call telling Jeff Skilling he couldn't figure out how Enron was making its money. He called the guy an *********. Well, turns out they weren't making money. Poof! Enron disappears overnight. Kenny Lay gets convicted, goes on a skiing vacation, goes to bed and never wakes up.
At least Tesla's problems are well chronicled in the instant current global news world we live in today. No profits, no dividends, and big production problems. It is just a car company, like the guy said. Albeit cars with high price tags and limited range and charging stations. A guy I know leased an MB electric car within the past year. Only had it a few months. He told me MB wasn't selling them, just leasing to customers. |

tech stock valuation is more like religion than numbers. If you believe, alibaba is closing in on a trillion in sales, Apple is the biggest stock in the S&P, Amazon is beyond price. Gravity always works, but it can take time.

Director of Battery Engineering is out at Tesla, no doubt following the battery production woes of the Model 3.

When you have a product that is too expensive for the market, it is only a matter of time. If they drop their price to a point that improves sales, they cut too deeply in their profit margin. Investors won’t like that. My prediction is that they are doomed.
