White Christmas

So a few days ago the forecast for Christmas was warmish and no snow.

This morning it started snowing before dawn and has snowed steadily but not intensely all day. Its up to about 3" so far and does not seem to be melting much, though its nice and wet and would make great snowmen.

When it stops I'll have to plow.

Have a merry (white) Christmas every body!

It's ok to say that now because according to Doonesberry the war on Christmas is over.

Sounds nice. I was hoping for a White Christmas but the left coast is stuck under a very persistant high pressure ridge. When my father was in the Air Force I spent some time in Indiana/Michigan so I had my share of snow.

Four inches of snow in Nebraska. No travel problems due to a great snow removal plan by the city and country.

So I plowed this morning. Looks like it was 6" deep in some places. It also was about 12 degrees. Brrrr!

It's -1 now here. It's gone down from +5 when I started to work.

I absolutely am leaving this area in January and February after I retire.

Had to put a sweater on when I went outside for my morning coffee and smoke.

5 degrees, of course that is Celsius.

Last night in central Nebraska the temps ranged from -17 to -19.

It's around 10 here at noon. When you think of it that is quite a warm up.
