Astronomers Have Detected Planets Outside Our Galaxy

In an incredible world first, astrophysicists have detected multiple planets in another galaxy, ranging from masses as small as the Moon to ones as great as Jupiter.

Given how difficult it is to find exoplanets even within our Milky Way galaxy, this is no mean feat. Researchers at the University of Oklahoma achieved this thanks to clever use of gravitational microlensing.
Wow. I cannot even wrap my head around the numbers. Three point eight billion light years.

This is us.

Only 125,000 light years.

Lets try some basic math. The Voyager space craft was launched over 40 years ago. Currently it has traveled about 13 billion miles from earth. Granted it did not fly in a straight line but you can kind of get the point. It takes a while to travel 13 billion miles.

Now look at Alpha Centauri. It is the closest star to our solar system. Its about 4 light years away form earth. That translates into about 25,000,000,000,000 miles. That is over 19,000 times farther away from earth than the Voyager is now. According to deGrasse Tyson, with current technology would take 70,000 years to reach Alpha Centauri.

As indicated in the picture in my OP, our galaxy is 125,000 light years across and I am not even going to attempt to figure out how many miles that is.

Now back to the OP, the planets discovered are 3.0 billion light years away. The reason we will never see them much less Alpha Centauri with profits or anything else. It has to do that we do not even have the scientific ability to travel out side of our solar system yet. In celestial time, we are still laying on our back trying to figure out how to roll over so we can crawl.

If mankind would forget wealth, politic's,religion, and racial hate,we could work as a whole society, and discover.

Jesus was a good man,so was Buhda too. Our society which allows some to obtain massive wealth,at the expense of others is not working.Capitalism, and Communisn don't work. The answer maybe lie's with artifical comupters, and science,to figure out a way of living in peace.
