United just cant catch a break. It does not look like an engine failure but more like the cowling was not secured and came loose. The video is pretty scary. There is a video on line that a passenger took and the engine is shaking it's pylon pretty good and the shaking in the aircraft is pretty evident.

I am sure that was a scary trip.

Additional pics here. Looks like the engine itself is still intact. The primary fan is still attached and it does not look like an explosion took place on either side of the engine.

If you go to the second link and go to the second picture in that link I think those are the still pics. I saw the video on TV so I did not watch it here. The pics are pretty jacked up. That is one of those things I think I would rather not see till I got off the plane.
