I am buying a new trailer. the company likes e checks. Can anybody tell me if that is a secure choice?

any time I do internet banking,or purchase,I sign out all forums,facebook,and twitter.Make my purchase,then dump history,and restart computer.Some hackers are using forums,facebook,ect.. to hitch hike to your history files,and cookies.
