FOR Tom Walgamuth

It has been an embarrasing amount of time, but been sweating my butt off in the garage in the evenings and I found this. See snappies. You were asking about this about a year or maybe even longer ago. This saved us from a nasty water damage claim. We sprung a leak and I am guessing the sudden push of water somehow triggers this gizmo in the water line to shut it off?. In any event, it stopped all water flow. No part # that I can see. Plus, I am assuming once it is triggered it's done. Water wont flow thru it any more either. I am assuming this is what it's designed for or I was just lucky and my water did not demolish our downstairs while we were gone for the day.

"Connect this end to water supply" and then I am assuming same deal in Spanish and French

A friend had his home flood due to the plastic end of a supply line attached to the toilet failing.

Pretty crazy that a $5 part can cause so much damage!

Looks like a velocity fuse.
