Anybody driving a Toureg, or Cayenne Diesel?
I am thinking of owning less vehicles. If I could get the right equipment on it I might buy one of the above vehicles and be able to sell off my Dodge, VW wagon and Montero plow truck.

A Porsche Cayenne to replace a Montero plow truck. I am going to go on Western plows web site see if they have one available for that model. And at what cost.:D

I agree that sounds silly but of course like your political arguemens you only focus on one of the potential skills of the Toureg. The Cayenne, Toureg and Audi C7 are all identical under the skin and can be bought used for about the same money. They're rated to tow 7700# and get over 20 highway. I looked under the back of one and the diff is impressively large. They ride and handle like a car too I hear. I don't like the looks of the Audi and there are hundreds of the other two to choose from.
Unfortunately my Montero is dying of rust cancer. Too bad because it is the perfect snow pusher for me...not too wide, short, rugged mechanically but as heavy as a half ton ford. It is so bad if i fill the tank it runs out of a rust hole. Finding any used parts for it is very difficult. |

Actually I knew you were kidding but for some reason had to react defensively. Perhaps because I see Porsche as a brand for snooty folks. (unlike a Mercedes);)
I believe the Porsche interior might be nicer. |
Which generation? I have heard some horror stories but like you...strangely drawn to them!

Probaly something about 4 years old...1st gen? I like the looks of the VW and Porsche.

G-Wagen...

No, I think not.;)

Personally i would not. All you eggs into a single basket which happens to be a complicated luxury vehicle with a complicated engine in a tight engine bay and difficult to service with all the associated increase in costs. Great when it all works exactly as designed, but less so when features falter.
I would replace the montero with an older jeep wrangler, which you will never have trouble finding parts for and can be beat on. Then i would combine the VW and dodge into a single vehicle that can tow what you want and still provide passenger comfort. |

Toyota Land Cruiser?

One of my friends has one, don't know the year probably 1-2 years old. Its nice but like a typical P car every dealer visit is a grand.
IDK for $50k-$100k I'd get a big body on frame Lexus or a Suburban, something that is own able outside of the warranty period. For reference a service visit for my truck is $65...for fancy synthetic oil...Porsche must use unicorn blood...:D |
In response to the Land Cruiser....No diesel option, right? Also 18 vs 22 or 23 mpg highway. Looks like a robust beast though.;)
