Sold the Mercedes 420sel
Got an offer I couldn't refuse and sold the German barge. Hate to see her go but he has some serious plans for her. Been a good car but she has been sitting. Sniff. At least I got two more Mercs to console me.

There is much speculation on the rising prices of older Mercedes.
I see a lot of junk. I am sure we all do. This is not junk. This is the type of Mercedes that folks who know are willing to pay for. Taking care of such a car pays off in the long run. Plus you get to enjoy driving it! |

Yes. My 420 is a rust free specimen.
He paid and went missing. Hasnt answered his phone since yesterday. The money is real. Had it verified at my bank. Dunno? |

He paid in cash?
If so just wait it out, he'll be in touch.

Yes. Cash. I will wait it out. Not interested in taking any money for nothing. Just weird.

That is weird.
If he doesn't contact you in a few months and the burden of having the car weighs too heavily on you, I volunteer to help you out! Just sign the title over to me ...... I almost bought one of those in 1994. Wish I had. |

Probably my favorite generation of S-Class sedan. I was thinking of buying a 560SEL many years ago, which was the reason I enrolled here.

Its a great car. I have other cars and this was sitting. I may just put it back on the road if this guy never shows. Its has only 125000 miles on it and is factory down to the radio.
Police said to leave him messages every few days and report to them if he does not respond in 30 days. I have a note taped to the car cover in case he shows while Im at work. |

I had this happen to me many years ago. New owner literally just drove out of my driveway and parked it in the street in front of my house, never to return after paying me. i also checked with the police, after 30 days they came and towed it away, presumably because it was parked on the street too long. Never heard what happened to the car and never heard from the guy that bought it. Felt bad, he had put a bunch of his tools in the car and they took those too.

My uncle has a 92(?) 420 that he imported from Germany. Less than 80k. Perfect inside and out. He’s real particular about his cars, and never sells them. He still has a sixty something Pontiac GTX that he bought brand new. Only 16k on that one.
I’d like to find a nice w126 someday, I think there is a group of people that would pay up for a legit one.

My favorite, too. Back in the ‘90’s when I was looking for them I came across a 560 that had a backseat with a bench would shift forward and drop the back to horizontal making a bed. All electrically shifted. It also had what I swear looked like a factory installed phone on the console. When I drove it the front suspension and steering scared me. Turned around, parked it and walked away. But damn, what a car!
