Got stung in the junkyard looking at a 450sel..........
I went to a new junkyard today and was looking at w116's and w123 while I was keeping an eye out for bimmers. I stop look at all of them see if there is anything neat and move on. Well i got to this 450sel wanted to look inside so opened the door (my head not far behind). next thing I know something starts sting me all over my forehead I swated at it and it stung my hand long story short 7 times on the forehead and 3 on the hand. Dont know if it was a yellow jacket or wasp. But watch what you do in junk yards. I felt like someone hit me in the head with a 2x4 so I was leaving because I did'nt feel to good and wanted to go to sleep, and what did I see a BMW. I stayed for 3 more hours pulling parts and it was well worth it. I got a prem. stereo speakers tweeters, seat switchs, gauge cluster, flash light, obc and wires, all for 50 bucks.

ya my head looks like a ballon right now so doesthe lower part of my thumb. But what I got for 50 bucks would cost about 200+ on ebay.

Sorry about your insect fraykus (sp), but glad you found some parts you could get cheaply. I'm looking for a drivers seat and armrest (Palomino) for my 123.. just asking if you remember seeing any that was worth a trip up your way?

No pics with my digital camera you would never notice the diffrence anyway. The swelling is gone now and I feel better other than my forehead feels stiff.
As for the arm rest the one they had with seats in it had red front seats and tan back.

hey dan,
if you happen to come across some side mouldings for a 92 300ce as well as the passenger rear belt panel/cover, and you're willing to sell them cheap, grab em for me...hehehehehe

No Palomino drivers seat w/armrest, huh? Too bad. However, I may still be interested in the Red ones since I have to cover mine with seat covers anyway. (the arm rest looks as if someone set a hot casserole on it.. all scortched and wrinkley.. seat looks similar) I need more comfort than I have now. Where is this junk yard? I assume it would be a day trip for me?

mushedroom, Nothing that new all 80's sorry
nellotare, this yard is in Deland Florida about 25 min. from the Daytona you pull it. It's real small time and kinda beat up stuff Daytona's you pull it has a few more w123's. I have to go back to Deland and get the tape player and some other stuff I will take another look around.
