Repaint Vehicle - Ideas, Thoughts?

I am going to do a refinish on a 97 300D its going back to its original #744 paint. That's the MB part of this thread.

Since I haven't done a full car paint in over 10 years I am going to practice on my 90 F250 which so deserves some freshening as it looks like a big brown turd now. I only use this vehicle as a Lowes runner or to haul some miscellaneous vehicle/equipment around on a car trailer.

I found this two tone ford combination that allows me to retain some of the good existing paint and then update with a white accent. Looking for inspiration - any other ideas?

I did a two tone rattle can job on same vintage f150 years ago, complete with a wavy pin stripe. the paint turned out actually pretty well, if I recall it was 15 or 20 cans of duplicolor. the pinstripe was my downfall, but I sort of made it work later on.

I think that truck is an ideal candidate for a roll on rustoleum paint job with wet sanding and buffing. Ive seen some incredible roller results on the web and always wanted to try it. as the paint is already poor on the pickup, i say go for it.

Its the original bright sliver metallic.

I wont use a rattle can - its so much easier to mix, load and shoot. The idea of painting the truck first was just to get me back into rhythm before I shoot the W210.

I saw a few pictures that really looked good - probably going to stay with the brown involved somehow so I don't have to have that extra time of doing the engine compartment, jams, and behind the cab/bed.

Paints done - end decision and result. It was helpful to do the ole truck first to get me back into the swing of things before I tackle the W210. Wish me luck
