Fastest continguous 48

A friend of mine (and fellow pastor) is attempting, with two of his friends, to drive through the 48 contiguous states to beat the wold record of 94 hours 42 minutes.

You can track them at fastest48.com, #fastest48 and by their GPS tracker https://share.garmin.com/Fastest48

They set off from Vermont at 8pm EST last night and are somewhere in Georgia right now.

I'm just a little jealous and I can't believe its actually happening.

You have the car for it! See if there is room in the back of the Cobra for a 50 gallon aux fuel tank!

One of the stipulations is that they won't travel more than 110% of the speed limit.

Although the top speed indicated by their GPS is 87 mph. I'm not sure where that speed limit would be.

Looks like they are doing 73MPH on 80/94 NW IN now better speed up or get run over but be ready to crawl in around 15 miles. Good luck!
Oops 73MPH in a 65 is a little over 110% of the limit. May be on 80 where it is still 70mph speed limit though.

And some provision to empty a conductors helper. Hope no Gatorade bottles out the window.

Looks like they are going through downtown Chicago midday, ouch. Could have taken 294 around that mess.

Got work to do, but had to see their speed in Chicago. 26mph, I have to admit thats doing good. There yesterday a little earlier and I would have been happy with that, raining though yesterday.

Speed limit on I-80 through Nebraska is 75 mph. I think it drops to 70 when you get into Iowa. But Iowa has hills and turns. Through Nebraska I-80 is almost 90% flat.

48 states in a Chrysler minivan? Sounds excruciating...
