You sir, need to check your valuables through gate check in pronto.

We all know that everyone that works in the airline industry (TSA, Air Marshalls, baggage handlers, etc.) has been vetted to be 188% HONEST, ETHICAL and MORALLY sound.......

Been flying for over 50 yrs. Never had a bag pilfered or known anyone who had a bag pilfered.

This story has more holes than Swiss cheese. I give it 3 Pinocchio's. What else do you have?

I wish it was a lie because he had spent quite a bit of money on gifts for family members back home.....

I'm also calling BS on this story. Baggage dept does not have xray or anything so they would have no idea what was in a bag. They do not have the time to go through all the bags. If the bag looked expensive they might make the effort.

2 Pinnichcio's Not very creative. You can/have done better.

I see said the blind man; so you are saying that anyone who checks valuables on a flight is an idiot?

After thinking about it David, I think you are 110% correct. It is painfully obvious that neither your person nor your baggage are safe from harm on today's TSA/Air Marshall/crooked baggage handler airline flights.

Since this is no secret, anyone who dares board a commercial aircraft must be an idiot!!!

so weird...as someone who flies regularly, I've never had a problem, nor have any of my peers who practically live on the road and in the air.

The real trouble is reserved for people who travel with valuables, i.e. expensive musical instruments, cameras, jewelry and expensive clothing.

I'm old enough to remember PRE 9/11 days when you could place a real lock on your luggage; the new "TSA friendly locks" are in reality NO LOCKS at all. Your entire life is on display.

I'll never forget flying a few months post 9/11. When I arrived at the airport, there was a newly employed TSA gate agent who was searching through a female passenger's luggage.

He was holding up her bras and panties for THE WHOLE GD WORLD TO GAWK AT. At least the jerk was wearing gloves while he rifled through her unmentionables. I really really felt bad for her but hey, cops have ALWAYS been into humiliation, right?

I travel pretty much everywhere with expensive electronics, often bring my DSLR camera in my bag when I'm checking, and used to travel with musical instruments. Jewelry and expensive clothing aren't so much my thing.

So where were we?

We were talking about women being subjected to shake-downs, feel-ups, strip searches, humiliation and out-right theft.

Yep. I always got a kick out of people who checked their meds and. *****ed when the bags got delayed or misrouted. Things do get lost or stolen... many times stolen by passengers on the carousel.

When you lie this much it becomes hard to keep all the stories straight.

Last time I dropped of a passenger at the air terminal, Mr. Jerk-off came out to inform me that I couldn't help my elderly grandma with her luggage and MUST move my car immediately. As I drove off, I saw her struggling to cart her heavy bags to check-in. Mr. Jerk-off didn't offer to help, either.

Seems the airlines and airports attract these types of non-customer service minded workers.

I think I'll take a pass, thank you but no thank you.
