For a Democrat Socialist, it will be a no go. The rich property owners by law need to let anyone have their stuff free.

The owner of the cars insurance drops them and Turo seems to hide so the owner gets to enjoy a nice lawsuit.

On another forum I'm a member off one of the guys loved Turo had 3-4 cars on them, until he rented his Prius to someone who proceeded to lend it to a coworker to get lunch... coworker side swipes another car, doesn't have a valid license. Other party sues him, his insurance drops him, Turo is hemming and hawing. Seems they want to cover damage no liability. Long story short its still in court don't know the outcome.

If you have no assets I'd go for what what is the other side going to get? If you have assets your a fool.

People who rent cheap cars on Turo seem to be A. To broke to buy a car themselves, B have a sketchy driving record so Enterprise won't touch them.

Not sure why I would want to buy the car. I'm just visiting and want use of a car. Been driving for over 30 yrs with out a single accident. Rented Alamo in San Diego this month and they got me for $55 a day for a Ford Fusion. Saw a 2015 Cooper Mini Clubman S for $35 a day. Why pay more to a corporation?

According to Geiko, my insurance takes over where the cars owners leaves off. I do not see a down side.

Good grief not everything is a left-right political deal. I find it bizarre not from some goofy socio-economic bullshlt, I find it hard to believe anyone would trust some unknown person with their vehicle, paid for or not. I really don't give a shlt about whether a capitalist or a democratic socialist approves or disapproved and I never said I thought it should be regulated. Quit reading words that aren't there.
YMMV

I like the idea - as a car guy, Id much rather rent a 2005 Miata than a 2017 Altima. Not sure how the money (or corporate travel insurance) works though.

-John
Let me ask you this in all sincerity. If you had a 2017 Altima with a lien against it, and I'd best most 2017 Altimas on the road today were NOT bought with cash, would you be comfortable letting some guy off the street drive off with it?
