I had no idea that was the natural form.

I've been using it in stir fries. I found a mango smoothie recipe with turmeric root. Haven't made it yet.

*EDIT* I just read his overview on nutrition and sounds good, a lot like the other gurus I've been reading. Dr. Mark Hyman is big on the high quality fat thing, his book: 'Eat Fat, Get Thin.' He's also big on paleo. I was excited to hear about paleo as I had been trying to operate in that manner to some degree for awhile.

Since about 1980, off and on I've been doing a blueberry cleanse in August - OlyWA where I've lived has a number of U-pick blueberry patches, also one that's been long abandoned and somewhat overgrown. Really great feeling to load up on blueberries and not much else for a few days. Hunter gatherers would go through phases like that, depending on what was available, ready to eat. I read a book by a mountain man once who said if you're going to kill a bear for meat, you should do it at the end of blueberry season as the meat will taste the best. Cleaned out.

One reason I've been determined to quit coffee. Not paleo.
If you can, try to catch his webinar on prostrate (it's listed under incontinence, it's the 3rd week of September I think). They're free. Because of this thread, and I am getting close to the pissing problem years soon, I will try to listen in. I listened to some of this webinars in the past. He cured my GERD and I am positive he prolonged the need for my spinal surgery. BTW -- down to 172.2. Just 2.3 pounds away from breaking the 170 ceiling ... lol Once I hit 168, I will be at the upper limit of the height and weight standards for the Army and Marines .... havent seen those in 2 decades ...lol ...

Pretty sure you meant 'postponed' your need for spinal surgery.

If you go to the Montery Bay Spice Co. you can buy many nutrients and supplements in bulk on the super cheaps. I can get a pound of astragalus root for $8 bucks !
I'm not down on such supplements but I'm telling you, picking blueberries for an hour or two in the morning and eating about a third of what you pick is some kind of soothing ritual. The price these days about $1.25 - $1.50 a pound. U-pick blueberry patches are much harder to find in Cal so I end up buying blueberries instead. The Trader Joes frozen wild blueberries are a blessing. $3 a pound. Don't know how they do it.

Speaking of which, holy shiite bat people, I've got enough aches and pains, thank God my back and hips seem fairly solid. Getting back weariness, semi-pain more and more. Got to keep stretching. I'd like to find a tai chi group. I did it some about 20 years ago. Good stuff. The Chinese made some wild discoveries over the years.

Chi gong style yoga also good. I learned the Korean form, Sun do (pronounced doh), from my Zen teacher, now I just need to start doing it every day. Doh!

I was thinking about investing in some yoga classes, once a week.

I've always been glad when I've done yoga, the sort that most people think of, the Indian hatha yoga. Why I've been so lazy about staying with it I can't tell you.

I opted not to have spinal surgery again.Reason is the hard healing process about 2 years, the new opiod scam to get boomers to shoot themselves because of pain.3 spurs grow on surgery site, and dig into nerves, requiring more surgery.
Rather move to ecuador where I can purchase legal CoCa leaves to chew on.

Put it off as long as you can. All the long term studies show either fusion or ADR have a very low success rate. I’ve escaped for at least four years and I’m hoping the injections, either gel or SC (or both) are the ticket.

The plethora of diet "experts and gurus" and the wide variation in their recommendations is proof that what works for you may or may not work for me. I can tell you fellows one thing: Get diagnosed with diabetes and put on insulin and there is no longer any need for "willpower". I like Michael Pollan's advice, and he is no nutritional "expert": "Eat real food, not too much, mostly plants". EZPZ
