I'm in Europe (Belgium and Holland) for two weeks on business. I'll have some time to spend on my own.

What things should I be looking for as far as tools? I love ordering from KC Tools but I'm wondering if there's anywhere over this side of the pond where I'll have better access to purchasing tools.

Do you plan to repair/rebuild anything on your cars that requires a specialized MB tool not easily found in the US?

I'll be in Dordrecht, but that's a great idea. I'll definitely try to go there.

I've been to Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, and the UK, but never to the low countries. I'm most certainly eating like crazy.

I had a nice chocolate croissant when I hit the airport in the morning and had Bouillebasse last night for dinner. It was the first time I've ever eaten a Langoustine and it was delicious.

Not really. I've already acquired those tools. I was thinking more of grabbing some higher quality hand tools if I saw them.

Dont waste your time. Plenty of things to see and there is no tool available there that you couldnt get cheaper and better quality here generally.

Id spend all my free time sight seeing.

Anyone familiar with the brand Facom? A colleague took me yesterday to an auto parts store here in Belgium and that's the main brand they sell. The shop can also order Hazet products and have them arrive next day, but they said they prefer Facom for their own tools.

I have a catalog they gave me to look through. Most Facom tools are made in France with a few made in the US. The told me that the US made tools were made in the Snap On factory in the US (I don't believe there is one anymore).

Griots garage sells Facom, or used to. They look about like Snap on.


Why buy tools in Europe? You can order everything they sell online in the US and its cheaper, and you don't have to carry it back.

If I was in Belgium I'd visit Dunkirk.

funny snap-on and knipex came up thats where i got my 2 knipex channel locks,from snap-on.i love em.

Instead of tools, the goal should be euro specific components to us spec european cars if you have time to wrench.

Tools are something that can be had anywhere.
