Looks more Buick-y to me .

Looks a lot like an old Buick Invicta:

Did you know that Studebaker was the post-war US distributor for Mercedes? Studebaker's demise was Mercedes' problem/opportunity to build it's own dealer network.

We're pretty lucky it never got built! I'd love to own the rendering though.

My first car was a 1960 Pontiac Bonneville that looked similar

I wonder whatever happened to my 1953 Packard? I also had a 1954 Caribbean and a "regular" 1954 convertible. The last real Packards. Wish I kept those cars back in the day. Funny, I just found some of these pictures cleaning out the clutter.

They were known for being high quality.....like a benz!

I really like Packards, particularly late pre-war and the '54 - '56 models. Too bad about the '57 - '58's. What an ignominious end to a great brand.

Merged with Studebaker in 1954 and that's the end so to speak. All of mine had the straight 8 --- The 54' convertibles had the 359 cu. in. the last and the biggest post war straight 8.

I guess my interest has peaked enough to see if I can track those cars down ...
