Info on a 300E??
Potential purchase for a friend.
Please advise: 1986 300E 194K miles (leak in A/C=$300) $3500.00 I no nothing about the lifespan of these. I know that they are not as durable as a diesel, but is 200K miles about the limit? Why do I see all of these in Ebay just under 200K miles? Would you think that this car is capable of 300K? What are limitations in this vehicle that I should watch out for? Thanks in advance, -Brian

I was *told* that the PO had the A/C totally replaced to the tune of $2800. Now that 2 years have gone by there is a leak has been diagnosed at $300.00. I asked them specifically...
Does this sound suspect? A/C is a pretty big deal for the person I will be looking at it for, but only about 2 months out of the year in the great white north (or Michigan.) If it is really going to be $3,000 there is no sense me looking further. Thanks for the info!
