Paradise Ca fire

I just read the Paradise fire is the worst single fire in Ca from loss of life and property. This is so saddening. This is about 50mi from where we lived for 27 years and living in the forest, fire was always a concern for us. I would say fire danger was 50% of the reason we moved. On the 4th I would hear idiots setting off fireworks all around us.

A tragedy all right. In this case though it appears to be PG&E rather than random idiots.

Yea-I don't know how they could find a single ignition source after all the destruction. When we lived in Nevada City there were frequent fires started by homeless people cooking on a fire.

Because they told residents the previous day that they had to fix arcing power lines up where it started. And they lost power in that area about 15 minutes before the fire was first reported. Seems highly likely.

While attempting to get an insurance quote for the house reciently. The agent I approached quoted.

The rates are escalating because the claim costs are both high in numbers and very high in costs to settle. They are also adding a lot of condiitions to even write a new customer policy. Better if I stay with our current provider.

I wanted to change companies because of a claim issue with my old one. Sobering how things are changing.
