Did I say ALL doctors are bad? Why do you continuously read into what I say? Of course they aren't all bad, some good some bad. My comment is when you hit the ER, you do not have time to weed out the good ones from the bad ones.
Showing up at the ER means YOU GET WHAT YOU GET!!! |

Showing up at the ER means YOU GET WHAT YOU GET!!!" Yes, you did say just that hm, several times over . ? I wonder of you've ever been to an ER when you weren't in need of medical help? . It -can- be very entertaining, also sobering, if one has compassion, a thing you keep bragging about not having .

Amazing, fortunately for myself I have yet to need the services of the ER. That said, I've been there many many times with family and friends. Some visits were impressive, others we felt lucky to have escaped with our lives. And don't EVER question an ER tech, nurse or doctor. They will call the police in a heart beat and have your A** arrested. Go along to get along even if it means getting killed. |

Health & Doctors
hm ;
If you have decent health most things will heal in due time . Excellent that you've not needed the ER as it's always a crap shoot ~ I was *very* lucky every time I've been .

I'm currently fighting some bills from the ER that are incorrect. Seems that more than a few medical billing departments don't have their billing acts straight. It then falls upon us, the patients, to attempt to straighten them out.

ER Billing
Quote:
When my spine was shattered (L1 vertibrae) by the gypsy cab running me over at a red light, they put me in a nifty elastic back support thing, it was terrific and even had battens sown into it like a sail boat uses, I had to wear it for a few years and wore it out, went back to buy another and was told $1,500.00 (!?! WTH?!?) ~ instead I went to a Motocycle touring supplies place and bought essentially the same device for $35, used it until I could stand / walk etc,. without it .(it takes a l-o-n-g time for shattered bone to regenerate, heal, whatever the hell it did) . Glad I was smart enough to have paid for good health insurance years in advance . Good luck fighting the billing office .

I do realize that hospitals and doctors make mistakes. That said, doctor's tend to bury their mistakes. I've been up close and personal with these people one too many times with friends and relatives.
If you are a patient in the hospital, you best have a friend who at a minimum is a nurse (preferably a doctor) who will take ownership and watch EVERY LITTLE THING HOSPITAL STAFF AND DOCTORS DO TO YOU. Otherwise, they might carry you out in a BODY BAG. |

This. Best check each and every prescription drug they give you against a list of any other prescription drugs for contraindications. People die every day due to screw-ups with prescription drugs.

BAD Doctors
I had to have four cervical vertibrae fused and the first Surgeon I saw was a worthless Woman (she was -no- Lady !) who clearly didn't want to do the job and LIED TO ME in the first pre op meeting so I called membership services and complained, I got very lucky as they gave me their top cervical Neurosurgeon who fixed me up very well indeed, I have a long metal plate and 8 screws in my neck now yet have manageable pain levels and can even now turn my head enough to safely look before lane changes etc.....
He told me after the operation that he'd spent decades in the ER and had never seen an ambulatory patient with this much damage . He spent several hours in there, went in through the front because he told me in advance it's easier to do a better job from the front, I told him do that as it's not a fashion show, it's my life to live . The scar is bad I guess, I still cut it shaving occasionally but then I'm not handsome so what do I care next to good mobility ? . You're right that too many Doctors have God complexes and never admit they don't know or made a mistake .
