Home Depot Automotive Performance Strikes Again!!

1 Attachment(s)
I took these pictures two days ago a few miles from my last sighting. This appears to be a testing ground for Home Depot's secret automotive performance group in the raw! I would guess that the lack of snow up here this winter has put snow shovels at an all time low. Hey … a major coup for this rice burner’s proud owner.

I bet he imagines he will "plow" through his competition!

He probobly considered adding a blower, but home depot had already put the damn things away until winter. B U M M E R !

Umm...sorry, but it doesn't burn rice. Nice 300E though.

That car's French. So rice would not be burned in it...I'm thinking foie gras, filet mignon, or prixe fixe, or some other type of horribly complex and rich French cuisine.

Rice or not the car fits the rice catagory. Definately looks rice with that add on, or is it factory? What kind of French car is it?

Benzie 06-10-2002 12:19 AM

looks like some solar cell panel, perhaps to power that thing...:D

hahaha...He MUST be joking! I think that's go to be the most ridiculous homemade spoiler I've seen so far! :D

Howdy Adam,
I think it runs on one of the cheaper French wines like Thunderbird or Ripple:eek: :D

BTW: Did anyone notice the highly fashionable duct tape stripes! Come to Kenosha Wisconsin to see the car freek show from hell!!

jsmith 06-10-2002 12:52 AM

those distinctive racing stripes also served a purpose on these specially "race prepared" Renault Encore home depot series. they keep that heavy glass hatchback from flying off and hurting somebody, sort of like the tape they used to put on headlights :D . interestingly enough, these cars were fairly successful during their time in SCCA racing. at one point, they were also used in Renault cup racing which was racing specific models prepared to spec...

please also note

the heavy 'left hand lean' to the car - obviously the suspension was tuned for racing! the bangs and scrapes along the right side indicates contact with the wall...
this is well seasoned racing car
oh and the chrome exhaust tip - that's a dead giveaway for 'rice'
imho.!

:D

Judging from the rough body...in an attempt to "roll" the fenders, the owner accidentally rolled the entire car!

Hi-Power 06-10-2002 03:03 PM

Adam,

For your records, that car is a Renault Encore 1985. The 16V version was very nice and popular car at that time in Europe.

I feel sorry for the little car, he ended his life on the wrong hands... :(

Kuan 06-10-2002 03:17 PM

This is obviously a mistake. He meant to mount that blade in front and convert the car into a snowplough. Those Wisconsin winters can sure take a toll on a guy's brain :)

Sorry, just noticed that Joe previously identified the car.
