Most Expensive Car Build In America: The Mercedes-Maybach GLS

You read that right. As Mercedes confirmed their plans for an ultra-luxurious Maybach version of the upcoming third-gen GLS, we can expect a starting price tag around $200K. This will make it the most expensive passenger vehicle that is built in the United States. Dietmar Exler, CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, said, "it will be a halo car. It will help build the Mercedes brand." We should also expect additional Maybach models in the future. What are your thoughts?

Even if I had the cash, I am pretty sure it's a hard pass. Not a fan.

$200k buys a fully tricked-out S560 sedan, with enough change left over for a small toy, like a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon...

They would be far better investing and building product reliability into their general line of todays products. Building a flagship model does nothing to improve the durability quality of their cars. Proving once again the wrong person is in charge of the company.

Given a choice between a new Lexus or a Mercedes. One is going to require pretty deep pockets over time in comparison to the other. This is also going to be reflected in resale values.

New Mercedes products are for those that do not mind excess expenditures. At least from my viewpoint.

The way our money, has devalued since 1972, this car would have been $17,000.

Todays Canadian federal budget provides assistance in buying homes if the household income is less than 120K a year. Now the middle class needs assistance?

When the middle class cannot reasonably take care of their needs raises some serious questions. I have heard of mortgage payments of 3-4 thousand a month plus steep property taxes for not much of a house . A 250.00 per month charge for sewage connection and municipal water as well. But only if you limit the time in the shower etc.

The only statement that I thought made common sense reciently is that 1.6 million Canadians are living in areas they should not be in.
