Thank god I got outta government work!!

Don't ever let anyone mislead you concerning heart surgery. It is SERIOUS business.....my neighbor had bypass and a heart valve replacement last year. He died during the surgery.......

ALL surgeries are risky, but heart surgery is ESPECIALLY risky....

Speaking of which, it pays to double check out the credentials of both the hospital AND the surgeon.

Hopefully he will feel much better after he recovers than he has in some time. Frightening to anticipate the surgery but the alternative possibly makes it less so.

Exclamation Operations

I'd share some of my incredible surgery horror stories except I'd be fanning hm's paranoia flames.....

Lucky to still be live at this point .

Believe me, my surgery horror stories trump yours. After all of it, I've come to the conclusion that if you can stay OUT of the hospital, by all means do. Better to die at home in your own bed than in a hospital bed surrounded by doctors and nurses cramming IV lines into your arms and legs.....

Right now, he's lying in bed clutching a cardiac pillow to his chest (relieves some of the discomfort from having your sternum cracked open, especially if you have to cough...).

One thing I agree with :

Stay out of the hospital, take care of your health ! .

Unlike Mr. Paranoia suggests, all Doctors are not bad .

All I know is that everyone who sees a doctor ultimately dies. Cannot be a coincidence...

Much truth to your statement. That said, the medical profession has discovered cures to many illnesses and disease except for ONE: mortality.

As do we all. Unfortunatly or fortunately bad news usually travels fast. It is reasonable for it to be awhile as he recovers before we hear anything.

The vast majority seem to survive that procedure. A person with enough years behind them probably has the wind taken out of their sails for at least a week.

Talking 'Unnatural Foods'

Well ;

So far, so good ~

Some decades back I stopped eating beef for about four years, it helped but in the end I came crawling back, hard to pass up really good Carne Asada or a burger properly made on the grill out back, etc......

Once or twice a year I'll have a nice pastrami sandwich, loaded up with onions and too much mustard & pickles of course .

I do try to avoid the fried foods but you can't live in my community and not be bombarded with it daily .

I don't know Nate's actual diet but I do know he's a hard physical worker as am I .

I hope he leaves off the heavy meat diet already, or if not now that he's seen the result .
