post heart by pass surgery

Thought i'd leave a few notes,in case some one else goes thru this. Monday 4/29 will be 21 days after surgery, I call it bypass surgery,as open heart, would intail,cutting heart open to repair valves.
By pass would be like use replacing plastic oilers for some engine cams.
They say you can get let down after,and the past 3 days have been ruff.Thinking about my life,and failures.Things I wanted to see,and do.
Picturing my future deathbed,and if I would be afraid,or go out cussing.

Exclamation Keep Going

Everyone has regrets Nate ;

That's how we learn : by doing .

In the big picture you've done O.K., Becky wasn't your fault .

You have to keep taking baby steps, you're recourseful and willing to put in the hard work so don't quit now .

Your warranty was just extended. This is a good thing! Focus less on your mortality, and focus more on the good things you can accomplish!

Mortality for us all is a given. Mentally deal with it at the time. Changes nothing good otherwise. You can do it.

They can do a lot with hearts now. I have a buddy with about 8 stints. Still playing golf and aggravating his wife.

I suspect you are kind of like me, no one can tell me what to believe in, and I sure as hell won't follow another's ideology.

That said, we live in blessed times, don't we. Our ancestors never got that second chance after cardiac arrest.. dying young and from many different ailments, and rather sudden. Yet, we are no more blessed in a spiritual way than they were. We are blessed materially, by our own collective intellect.

I would bet none felt bad outrunning the slower poor soul that was eaten by a predator.

We are human at our very core, inescapably human. We do human things that manmade ideologies frown up, in rather cruel judgmental ways.

Take no shame in being human, in acting human, in being what our genetics designed us to be. And when that day comes... smile... laugh... be thankful to have experienced the life of a man... because living the life of another creature just isn't quite the same.

Not a DR but didn't they saw your chest open? I had a couple broken ribs, pain every breath, slept sitting up because it hurt to much to rise out of the bed. Then one day a few weeks later it dawn on me hey I am not in pain. Follow the Drs rehab instructions and don't over-do it. Good luck.
