Road Going Bears
Beware of Bears ! .
A friend of mine who lives on No. Cal. hit a bear last week, whilst at speed on his old Honda CB750 4 cylinder . The bike was demolished and he's very lucky to be alive...

The wife is going to shoot me. Okay it is my second or third childhood. If I find something I really like it may come home with me. Saw a little Yamaha 250 v twin with 1500 miles on it for sale. It could sustain secondary highway road speeds back and forth to the cottage 17 miles away on nice days. If there is traffic on it an occasional day. Seldom any traffic on that road though.. Carb as it is a 2014. Fuel injected with newer versions. Reviews say the brakes are not great. Disk front and drum back.
The Honda rebel is probably more refined and a better built bike in the same size range. Almost scarce if not scarce. Really suprising just how few used smaller sized road bikes are for sale out there. Lots of dirt bikes in smaller displacements. Probably the best time to buy bikes is in the late fall. At my age price is not really important. Yet at about half new retail with only 1500 miles on something is worth considering. I have no interest to be out on the major highways. More just puttering around on nice early mornings. Unbelievable amount of heavy bikes out there for sale. Problem with this 250cc at this time it is over a sealed local border with the virus. Suprising it weighs 390 pounds. I have no ideal of why we like the sound of V twins. It may be our generation. Have to admit it was one of the attractions to this one. The trials bikes had only 3 gears. Also a small sprocket on trans & a huge sprocket on the rear wheel!
They were not made for speed.
