Maserati biturbo

Anyone else have any experience with these cars?
I bought an 87 biturbo last month and have been doing a lot of work to get it back on the road. Still needs a lot of cosmetic de-ricing...

I'm aware that the quattroporte badge doesn't belong on this car. It's a 4 door biturbo, there is an 87 quattroporte, but this isn't that.

I have it running and driving decently, it needs an alignment, new front struts, a good interior cleaning, etc. Needs the chrome things pulled off the fenders and the hood scoops removed. Sadly it appears the car has been resprayed with those in place, so I'll probably have to paint the hood.
It's one of the quirkiest cars I've ever driven and it's amazing.

I'd sell it before something expensive breaks. Seriously. Lovely looking car though.

I believe you're thinking of the Chrysler TC which is a k-car with a high flowing head, some other "luxury" parts, and a huge pricetag. The biturbo is actually a Maserati, albeit a crappy one.

You do know that Chrysler owned Maserati ~1983-1989 or so right? I think that was the joke...

These were not known as good cars so try not to put too much $ into it and don't expect to make a penny when you sell it on .

That being said I like the color and the car overall looks nice .

Ok fair enough....

And yes, I'm aware it's a money pit. I didn't pay much for the car nor did I buy it as an investment. I'll have my fun and pass it on to the next sucker

Passing it on to the next sucker IS the fun part...

Do yourself a favor and disconnect the battery after parking it in or near a structure....your station wagon has a trepidatious look on its grill...

Enough friends and folks from another message board harassed me to the point I made a crappy, begrudged video on how the thing drives. I can't wait to have the time to rip the hood scoops and fender vent things off... I gave the car a good wash, claybar, and wax tonight. Those items are really getting on my nerves...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSAywFdyKOs
I also have a long rambling video about all the weird stuff under the hood.

You can sorta see the reflection of my 300TD in the paint. Greazzer has my injectors and new monark nozzles right now, I can't wait to get freshly rebuilt injectors in the engine and have that back on the road.

I like the color and think the body's lines look good too .

It sounds like it runs O.K., that boost gauge is worthless not having the amount of actual boost on it but if it runs out O.K. who cares, right ? .

I'd wait on removing the scoops until I wanted to paint the whole car.

Even if it resulted in leaving crowbar marks on the hood, I would get those scoops off instantly, and give them to the next ‘82 Camaro owner I encountered...
