You are thinking like a poor person. I think anyone with $3 million to plop down on a car easily has the disposable income to get all the other car toys they could think of or want.

Money is a funny thing. I recall the alleded words of one of the duPont heirs saying "at first money brings happiness but after awhile all it does is bring more money."

I would not know. I want the chance to prove them wrong. My theory is that I can be just as miserable being rich as I can if I'm rich.... I'll just be miserable in comfort and style. I'm willing to make the sacrifice.

At $150K, GM hopes to position the car to compete with the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini.

Ya not going to happen... $150,000 the people paying that much will not go with a GM compared to a hand built exotic. If they do they already have a Ferrari or Porsche. Corvette has always been a budget sports car that offers the most bang for the buck performance. The C8 will be the same and sold in masses.

So if you won the lottery for millions you would no longer be a miserable whiner about everything not free. I doubt it.

My wife was bugging me for a C7 until she saw what is supposed to be the C8.

She said she could wait a year or so for the demand to quell.

But if the C8 is not faster than her current ride, which will hit 190, then she says to just forget it.

All depends on what the definition of "it" is.

My neighbor up in NY is a Corvette/Lamborghini guy. He loves his TT Kits. He was telling me how he will not go for the C8 because he might switch to a Porsche 911 Turbo. I am sure the new C8 will be faster no issue there. But will it feel like a Corvette? I will let you know if I drive one.

The difference will not be that great I don't imagine. The corvette already has its transmission in the rear so the weight distribution won't change all that much. Lack of a driveshaft will create more room in the cabin probably though. I am looking forward to seeing one.

I think the reason for him looking to say goodbye to Corvette is because of the possibility of it not feeling like a Corvette. A Porsche will give you a new feel plus the superior build quality. If speed is your only goal the Vette is hard to beat for price:power ratio.

2020 Corvette leaked

Here it is. The 2020 Corvette. Outside looks good but that interior is just ugly.

Feel like which Corvette? Back in 2002, I worked at a tire shop owned by a Corvette guy. All his Corvette buddies brought their Corvettes to get worked on, so I got to drive everything from C2 to C6. I didn't like the feel of the C6. Felt too much like a luxury car. 4 and 5 felt more like a sports car, but my favorite was one particular C3 that had engine mods but stock everything else. The one C2 I only got to move in the parking lot, so I'll have to withhold judgement on that.
