They cannot afford to live anywhere...hence the label "homeless". They choose to live in cities because there are ways to survive there that don't exist in the less populated areas.

Here's what you do: Rent a fleet of buses and go to a big city in a blue state. Fill them up with the homeless from that city, and bus them to one of those idyllic affordable-rent areas in a red state.

It just keeps getting better. I learned ILLinois can track out of state purchases made with debit/credit cards and impose back taxes for items like cigarettes (and eventually) alcohol. I suppose a way around this for those close to the state borders is to buy these items with cash.

They also amended the process for tax collections on trade-in values when purchasing new vehicles.

"Trade-ins for property similar to the purchase, such as trading in a used vehicle during the purchase of a new vehicle at a car dealership, have traditionally been exempt from sales tax. SB690 caps that exemption at $10,000 of value, meaning amounts above that will now be subject to sales tax."

Then there's the new "Rain Tax".
