Las Vegas

Las Vegas actually has more Catholic Churches than casinos. It is common that when the collection plate is passed people often drop in casino chips. All the churches got together and sent these chips to a monastery to be sorted and counted and then on to the various casinos for cash. They call the people who count the casino chips “chip monks”.

Post Churches In Las Vegas

Most folks only come to see the few things they're interested in then leave .

L.V. is a really big and spread out place, my Sweet likes to gamble so I've been taking her there for a few decades, I like to sight see and spend a lot of time no where near the strip, there's plenty of everything there if you but stop to look .

An 82 Y.O. Woman friend of mine is planning to move there as it's pretty inexpen$ive, I'd not live there unless forced to do so .

Post Sin City

It really depends on you, I have no problems there because I don't gamble, do drugs, consort with the trashy types.....

Lots of really good hiking there if that's your thing .

Eateries too plus I'm a junkyard junkie and have several I always hit when we're there .

I'm always pleased to be leaving.......

I lived in Nevada awhile,Reno, and Baker Junction. The drive from Ely to Baker was open range then.Stop for animals, was some blue Ice to on Mt. Wheeler. You could if enough fuel, drive dirt to the Salt Lake.

I've been there a couple times and once to Reno. Never spent a dime at vegas on gambling. Did some coin op slots in Reno.

Vegas reminds me of sodom and gomorra.

Talking Whew

Tough crowd here .

? Anyone else remember the many Gays Ronald Regan brought to DC from Hollywood ? .

As long as they're not bothering you, Gay folks shouldn't make any nevermind to you .

Our last trip back in April. We went Mt. Charleston (West of Las Vegas) near Red Rock. Also, went to Hoover Damn and Lake Mead before. Not so much because we are hikers but more for the view and just to see it. Lots of great places to eat! Lawrys Prime Rib is amazing. Lots of good buffets like the ones at MGM and Caesars. Cigar lounges, night clubs as well. I am a golfer so I played a couple of courses out there but not the touristy ones. I always look forward to going back.

Thumbs up Vegas Attractions

last year we got a ticket for the Harrah's Casino buffet, it was fantastic, the parking a hot mess and you had to wait 1/2 hour in spite of the place being less than 1/2 full.....

Boudler Dam and Lake Mead are pretty cool, they changed the road so you can't drive over it nor can you take the deep in tour of the damn anymore (thanx alt right crazies) , the lake is really low these days too, a sad thing all 'round but nice for boating nevertheless .

Red Rock Canyon offers great hiking , there's so much to see and do in The Silver State, many are not aware .

I had better luck with that.

Went to Vegas to get married because we could not get the Church and we needed to turn in paper work to immigration. So got married in Vegas and the Church Wedding a month later.

Other that getting married itself is a gamble I don't gamble. But, when was leaving the Hotel there was a Slot Machine by the Door. I put in a Quarter and pulled the lever and my Quarter came back. I grabbed by Quarter and left Las Vegas.

Been married over 20 years through the good and bad of it.

Twenty years is nothing. I cannot remember when I was free now. No regrets fortunately. Two people married 20 years is forty years of combined interaction.

We all gamble in various ways. Perhaps not even aware of it.
