White pages . com now wants $ before telling you anything, is there any place one can use to look up people for free ? .

If you have the name and city or whatever. I have looked people up on the net. I cannot remember if it was the phone company or not but it is free. One problem today is many people just have cellphones.

Sorry. I will look up something and post. On this post. Just use the white pages directory for the city the individual is in. On the net. I just typed in white pages directory for a city I used to live in and it gave me it. With a list of surnames to start with to choose from there. The phone system here is well organized and probably the sane where you are. I used to have a lot of trouble with several phones systems in America. Charging for directory assistance has been in place for a long time here.

I did not use white pages.com. I can see where there may be billing with that. Just white pages and the city. Whatever works for your area is fine though.

As it turns, I don't necessarily know where folks are living these days so I need a wider search engine .

I tried one of those suggested and it looks like it worked, as I find time I'll try more .
