why not,if the new animal contains no bad protiens,or prions, then ok. Like produce a gentle, cow for milking or beef,the size of a blue whale

Unless I’m missing something, this is nothing new. Polled Herefords have been around for years. I have always assumed that it was accomplished through breeding.

Polled cattle through normal animal husbandry are linked to less disease resistance and vitality. Using CRISPR you can get the polled genotype without the linkage to reduced vigor. I don’t think the link got into the details. Not many people unfamiliar with cattle have a clue about classical animal husbandry line improvement.

No. Slaves (through history in various cultures) were bred the old fashioned way not using CRISPR.
