Indianapolis Motor Speedway Sold to Penske

https://www.indystar.com/story/news/2019/11/04/indianapolis-motor-speedway-sold-penske/4154155002/

Penske has owned the 500 for decades, now he owns it literally too. Probably a good thing.

Maybe. I have no clue. But it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Whoever wrote the article referred to the track as an oval. Probably one of the reporters that report an aircraft accident that was the result of an aerodynamic stall as an engine failure.

The article also said they sold the Clabber business to focus on the racing, then sold that. Heirs just cashing in, plain and simple, trying to beat the new wave of taxes when Lizzie or HRC become President.

Define oval.

It is not a precise mathematical term. An ellipse, a circle, a trapezoid - these things have a mathematical defition. Oval does not. The track is more oval than circular or square.

Yes, at least in racing. I believe they typically refer to all tracks that are not road courses as ovals.

That's about it. Rectangle with rounded corners is too long so they go with oval.

Any minute Larry is going to check in with mea culpas.

Did you have a fast team of horses? The kind that burn hay instead of gasoline?
