I don't think they bent the truth intentionally, but it is truly hard to get all the details right when you have people watching who are such car nerds.

The Classic should be on every hard core car-person's bucket list.
Seeing and hearing, at speed on the track, original GT-40s, 917s, D-types, Bugattis,...….
If you go be sure to get a paddock pass.
Wow. First I've heard of it. I got a kick out of just seeing actual GT-40s at the Palo Alto auto concours.

Things like using road atlanta to film scenes that were supposed to take place at circuit de la sarthe, will only be so real. Without the whole movie being 100% CGI, I am not sure what they can really do...deconstrict armco barriers etc?

I figure it is a movie, not a documentary. Surely on my must see list once I am back in the states.

Motortrend TV had a show Ford vs Ferrari that did not have all the big name actors in it but did depict things more accurately.

That one is more of a documentary, which is fine by me.

I'll probably see it on DVD when the public libraries get it.

About the Ford GT; I am intrigued enough with the 2017 to have been interested in buying a new one. However, I learned that you have to be approved or chosen to have the privilege of buying a new one. I'm less interested when I learned that they're only built with automatic transmissions nowadays. Sports cars with automatic transmissions are a non-starter with me. Nonetheless, I'd love to look one over, or better yet, drive one.

There's a new one recently delivered to a guy (on another forum I'm a member of) in the San Antonio area, that I might could find just to see one. These guys are generally pretty tight lipped, but this owner posted the video delivery of his with a small audience of onlookers. He stated that he plans to do his spirited driving in The Hill Country of Texas.

I didn’t know they weren’t available with three pedals. If I had to settle for one with two pedals I would just hand the keys back to you and say “Thanks anyway.”

That's ^^^^ what I'm talkin' about....

Which is why I decided in 2017 to buy a new C7, while GM still produced an MT. It was determined that there would be no MT in the 2020 C8.
