After over a decade and 3 BMWs I went to the Dark Side.

What took me so long? Comfort became my priority.

I liked this more than the X4. Being an empty-nester, I can get a bit frivolous now.

Looks nice. I don't get the trucks with car bodies though. Can you tow with it?

Why would I, tow hitches are unattractive and unseemly for a car this nice. It wasn’t bought for that.

What then? Easy to get in and out of?

I love Benzs, I have been taking Lyft's in many "luxury" vehicles and I'm shocked at how comfortable the W210 is compared to modern cars.

I find the W210 smoother and more comfortable than the latest gen Infiniti Q50 and Honda Accord.

The seats are FAR more comfortable than modern cars, hell I like the clothe seats in my 1990 Subaru over modern cars.

However modern cars are far quieter inside the cabin.

What’s the W code for the 2020 GLC coupe?

I can relate. I was way into my E30 325i, two of them actually for about 15, 16 years. Thought it would be a five speed forever for me. But then my left ankle started showing its age. Banged it up in basketball and work too many times. That Beemer clutch is stiff. Sometimes in stop and go traffic, after a long day, I was really wanting an automatic.

Back issues for me. Can’t say I miss it that much. Other than a well executed rev-matched downshift, the current transmissions give me the engine control I want.

Not a problem as many manufactures continue to drop standard transmissions. If they were to make the control solenoids easily externally serviceable. Without pulling the transmissions.

Transmission shops would suffer a substantial hit. Some of the newer transmissions are primarily set up internally like standards. With solenoid controlled gear shifts.

Perhaps the CVT type can be made as durable but it is really not all that likely in comparison. Potentially the standard transmission design even in the Automatic type. Might eventually become almost bulletproof.
