Anybody have a rocket mortgage referral code?
My wife and I are buying our first house. A nice 1700 sq ft split level built in 1973 on a quiet culdesac street in an nice older neighborhood. HUGE multi car garage and workshop!
Mortgage lady says that if I know anybody that has used Rocket Mortgage and has a referral code it’s worth the cost of the appraisal. Figured I would post here asking. I would be super thankful if anybody has one. ~Phil |
First Time Home Buyer
Congratulations Phil ! .
You're about to a dwindling group in America : Hope / property owners . Remember : every penny you add to the monthly payment goes directly against the principal owed so it $aves you in interest too, you needn't make big principal payments, just do them every dang month . |
Thanks! We’re excited about it. Going from where we rent a house now to about twice the space plus the whole garage for only about $200/mo more.

Get ready for some really hard times as you get accustomed to it, in the end it's all very worth while .
Do not fall into the trap of thinking it's an investment ~ it's where YOU LIVE AND PLAY . Getting it for only $200 more monthly is terrific ! . |
$200 a month? For a house that fancy? Wow! I'm surprised at that. I thought a house this swanky could cost at least $1,000 a month. Do you really think that's a reality? You are in a parallel universe. Guys, it's been almost a year since I wrote this post. Do you have any news? It would be interesting to hear about how your mortgage payments are going. I would suggest consulting Mortgage Broker Cambridge as well and finding out all the things you are interested in that relate to mortgages and other payments

Interest Rates
O.k., thanx ~ I didn't know that .
When I bought my current house they skinned me for an extra 1%, it was supposed to be 13% but on signing day it was 14%, back then I was married , I smelled a rat but my young bride insisted 'just sign it, it's "only" 1% difference'.... She didn't grasp it . I did and paid whatever extra I could manage every month for years and years, chipping away at the all important principal ~ you and I get it, many do not grasp that addition is cumulative so reducing the principal is as important as that monthly interest nut . My plan is : have this dump paid off by the time my grand daughter (7 Y.O.) comes of age and give her a property, the house is a tear down but the lot has value . I remember when vehicle loans were fixed and you couldn't $ave by paying down the principal . To the newbie Avery , it's not $200 / month, it's 200 $aving$ / month . |

$aving Dollar$
I wasn't a depression era baby but I grew up listening to them and tried hard to figure out how to get ahead, it's done by planning ahead, too many say "I can't afford it" as they buy thing on credit and some, drink etc....
I pay my bills in full every month and quit smoking in my 20's, I don't buy vehicles on credit.... I may not have a sparkling house in the suburbs but I *do* have a corner lot in a quiet residential 'hood with fruit trees and no chance of it ever going down in value.... If my grand daughter doesn't want the hassle she can sell it or bulldoze it and give it to the city as a public park, who knows / cares ? . Meanwhilst I have a place to live where the neighbors know trust and like me, not easy these days . When I was 14 or so and out on my own, my boss told me about the garage where he'd worked in the 1950's, one of the guys told him 'please don't tell anyone I'm buying a house, they'd make fun of me' ~ the guy was 17 years old and buying a house in Pacific Palisades ~ a place I'd not want to live but a telephone booth there would be million$ now... In the early 1970's I remember many others being given free homes, just take over the payments, not one of them cared enough to make the monthly nut and all lost the houses . I learn from others as well as my own mistakes . |
