I bought toilet paper at the 99 Cent Store today at 4 o'clock in the afternoon on a Saturday. Single roll, limit 2, but it's the first time I've seen tp for sale in a store in a few weeks. And it's actually the good stuff: Charmin.
I've seen stores out of bread. I've seen other stores out of milk. I've seen another store out of eggs. None of them were out of more than one of those. (No tp at any of them) I actually bought a dozen eggs last week after not buying fresh eggs for a good six months. I'd seen some internet articles on the right way to make scrambled eggs. I wanted to try "the right way". Turns out most of the secret is butter. They came out pretty good. I have a few left that I'm going to use to make potato pancakes with.

Yea I kind of miss Nevada but it just was not in the cards. Glad now we did not start building. We sold the lot in Genoa last year-another timely move.

Toilet paper resupply has filled the shelves again here. In eastern Canada. Only recent change here is the announcement that food retailers are seeing higher costs to get all food in and will be passing those along.
I had mentioned to the wife some weeks ago this was a possibility. As well as mentioning people should not expect a return to lower food prices after this is over. Food has become far more expensive in Canada than in America in the last few years. Economics killed our smaller farms. So we import a lot from America. Our weak dollar compared to the American dollar has contributed as well to the higher costs. I think it is bad enough that what the average Canadian spends per week to feed their family. Would shock the average American family. I always thought it was bad policy to wreck the viability of smaller farms. They always brought their requirements at retail and sold production at very controlled and manipulated wholesale. Yet there is good profit in producing food as the corporate farms continue to expand. The other issue is basically minumim wage workers are those dealing with the infected public every day at grocery stores. They are less likely to have good health insurance coverage as well. Yet most likely to get sick over time. Still no decent masks for the public are available. Or even for them. That to me is really bad. This hype of six foot social distancing is not the equivalent. It is too dependent on many factors. Grocery shopping is both dangerous and an absolute requirement. We have others do it for us. That is not a viable option for the majority. I also do not believe the sky is falling. I do suspect we did not have to have this event in North America. Or perhaps in far less numbers that where manageable. Someone should ask the World Health Organization just why they did not follow their long existing protocols. Established since the dawn of rapid long range aircraft travel. America is their largest financial supporter. Many countries where asking them to stop the planes. This answer of theirs we do not think it is a problem over and over again. Was not their call. They knew better that there was a problem and protocols. Many member countries thought it also was. That organization has gone very quiet since but still has it's American funding I imagine. Yet it should have been fronting this from the start. Not our politicians. I assume that the CDC has stopped putting known sick people on domestic planes with normal passengers by now. They have verified they did a lot of this with their questionable excuses. Also by people that where concerned and were sick and put on aircraft coming forward. I believe this is how north America got really seeded with the virus. If Trump is not responsible he should start an investigation to find those that were. As they destroyed the economy. As well as caused a lot of needless deaths and sickness. There is not a shadow of doubt at least to me. That people in higher positions are responsible for what we are experiencing. Their perceived needs where more important than the well being of the population. They could do it again if not rooted out. In many ways. Far more important than the lack of some consumer requirements. Yet not a word is being said. Where is the media other than for propaganda purposes? The Clinton-Biden-Obama consortium is definitely guilty. Everybody says so.

For the firs time in almost two months I found TP in the store yesterday. Hopefully supply is starting to catch up with demand.
