Latest Indiana virus stats

Total positive cases: 79
Total deaths: 2
Total tested: 554

Running about 14% positive of those tested. I suspect due to the lack of test kits they are not giving them to all they would like.

Question Maybe..........

....It's time to begin a new separate thread 'death watch ' ? .

Not trying to be morbid, just wondering if collating all the deaths in one place might be informative .

Protect yourselves. The reported and verified cases may be little more than the tip of an ice burg.

If you actually can find an article of what the Chinese did. We are doing absolutely nothing in comparison.

The world health organization insisted you have to really fight this virus. It is about down to the individual level to do so currently in north America. . It will take effort until a vaccine is distributed.

Do not estimate the percentage death rate. It is only low till there are no services. Or few medical services available to meet the demand.

If I were younger I might consider buying a breathing machine and renting it out. They are 20 to 40k each in north America. One from China even used might be imported. That way if someone in the family needed one they would have it. They are already setting up guidelines to determine who is to live or die.. Since there is every indication there will be a substantial shortage of equipment.

We might not be even able to keep it current. At some point they might not even be releasing statistics to the public. It is more likely than not. Governments are terrified of panics.

Personally I do not feel the death rate will reach panic numbers. Yet they are possibly going to be a lot more deaths than many suspect.

When Trump was stalling. The federal reserve is limited by regulation or law. To dispensing a maximum of 100 billion dollars a day. The combined banks where asking for more on some days. I picked it up at the time and wondered why? Even just asking for the maximum would be very rare in my opinion.

There had to be a reason. It might be innocent but it almost had to have something to do with this situation.

There may have been a hoax in reality to buy a little time. As Trump was fully informed of what was coming. When he was making his invalid claims. It takes time for banks to build liquidity.

I can see a massive surge demand for equity loans and other types ahead. To tide people over. Also a minor run at the banks like people stocking up on toilet paper is possible in my mind. Banks had enough time to get a reasonable amount of cash in their system.

I have but a simple mind at best remember so this is just what I suspect. Certainly one to two thousand dollars will not tide many through this.

It does not exonerate Trump totally though. It might explain that he was the only business man with his group of advisors. Except the financial guy. To realize that the banks where in a very poor liquidity position and needed some time to build it up.

My mother said she hoped I would never have to live through a true depression. Yet if I did. To remember if you are in a position to help some of your neighbors. That are in their situations through no fault of there own. Give them food if you can. If the true need exists.

The proposed one to two thousand dollars handed out federally will go litterly nowhere. The people sitting at home with business and industries closed and still closing will create more unemployment than even in the great depression.

The virus may or may not be the major issue. Not many are considering the effects that should be expected in the economic fallout. When it should be getting some of their thoughts. People died of hunger in north America in the 1930s.

Now where did I put my tin foil hat. I have had a lot of thoughts that are like trying to keep a lid on a boiling pot. No self assurance they are accurate and they are speculative in nature. So the remain in the pot. Unless I find links that make them at least somewhat plausible.

Since we are mainly a service economy it seems to me once the isolation is past people will go back to their normal lives.

How is "service economy" defined? Last time I checked, "our" largest employers here are IU, Purdue, which does include health care, then agriculture, health sciences aka bad big pharma who many say up until recently need to be shut down, that followed by the usual W-Mart, Kroger etc. Where are those shouts now to shut down "big pharma". Hugh sid,dm,?

We can do this one step at a time. Is a university part of a service economy? IDK.

I don't know the definition but I'd say yes.
