Cats can't see where they are peeing, so they prefer to pee on a surface that gives some sound feedback. If you put harder (noisier) litter in their box they may change back. Cats behaviour is very hard to change and they probably appreciate that their peeing shower is very well cleaned so it may take some time.

I had to sprinkle pepper in my sinks and stalls to stop a previous cat from doing that. Took a week. It rinsed away when I needed to use them.

Cats also don't like the smell of peppermint Oil.

Post Cats.....

I'm lucky in that all my cats were easily box trained .

When you go to some homes the pungent stench is like a pliers on your nose when you enter .

I now have dogs, they crap all over my back yard, I guess that's better (?) .

Post Cats & Baths

In about 1965 a neighbor around the corner had a cat that liked to sit in a pan of water about 3" deep and be bathed....

Strange but true .

More than once I have heard of cats urinating on their owners heads. When they were sleeping. You cannot make this stuff up. The owners reactions where never specified.

Tough to get them to wear a shower cap and scrub behind the ears.

He chewed the rubber ducky.

Smart cat.

With that much hair you have to be careful where you s(h)it.

The general rule for litter boxes is one for every cat + one.
They don't like to pee and poop in the same box.

Post The Litter Box

Few cat owners I've met grasp the need towash the little box on a regular basis, not just sift the dirty litter for turds .
