So the priest sent the altar boy up into the rafters, with instructions to light the candles at exactly the right point in his sermon. The people filled the pews, and the sermon began. It went on for a while and the priest said, "and the angels lit the candles." And looked up. Nothing happened. So the priest said, louder. "The Angels Lit The Candles." and looked up expectantly. Nothing happened. And the priest shouted at the top of his lungs "AND THE ANGELS LIT THE CANDLES.". A small voice came from somewhere up above "and the cat peed on the matches."

When the cat pees in the shower you should flush the toilet. The shower water will get real hot, burn the cat, and dissuade this abhorrent behavior. Don't ask me how I know.

Daily clean out and weekly wash of the box.

Plus fresh litter. And a sprinkling of eugenol oil for freshness.

Post Routine Cat Box Service

And therein lies the rub : even my ever so picky mother didn't do that, she'd sift it daily and change / clean it frequently but I've never met anyone who did it daily .

I clean the litter every 12 hours and now that I work from home, also midday.

I made the move to keeping my two cats out full time a year of so ago. If the litter box was not sweet smelling enough they'd poop on any small pile of sawdust in my shop. And then started pooping on the sawdust free floor. Don't like stepping on poop. They adapted. I make life easy for them.

Post Teaching Cats

Some folks use the hash method .

Teaching cats is like nailing jello to a tree IMO .

I remember in the 1970's the big thing was to train your cat to use the toilet, it took time and effort but no yelling / scaring the cat....
