Honestly don't remember. It's been 20 some years or so since I have had a burger there. Ms Mash is not a fan of their burgers. She like What a Burger and some local owned joints.

When Krispy Kreme opened up here it was on the news, there were lines a mile long to get their doughnuts. Crystal Palace (I think that is the Chicago Sliders place) opened up...same thing.

I just find it bizarre.

Yea I remember the Krispy Kreme craze a while back. Seemed like everyone was walking around with a box of them. Speaking of interesting food topics I saw the Weiner Mobile a while back when I was still working. It was basically a truck chassis with a hot dog on it. When I was a child I saw the WM and checked it out (as I was interested in all things automotive) and it was basically a car with a hot dog on it. I'm sure they had several of them all over the country. I'm sure no one want's to drive a hot dog coast to coast.

Smile IN-N-OUT URGE

It's partially a local thing and partially "hey the news says this is hip, we gotta go get some " .

FWIW, they really do make good quality food there .

Never freeze anything and the fries were spuds whole 1/2 hour before you eat them .

It's never been a big thing for me but my Sweet loves it to this afternoon after working I bought her one, she was *very* happy and we all know :

If mama ain't happy, ain't NO ONE happy " .

I really miss those old mom & pop diners and corner burger stands .

FWIW, liberals are -not- their biggest customers, alt righties are but there you see their intelligence or lack thereof .

Eaten there once, maybe twice. Didn't knock my socks off.

Meanwhile here on the northern edge of Silicon Valley, Redwood City, a Chick-fil-et opened a few months ago (where a McDonald's had been) and they have been minting money ever since. The drive up lines are so long they have an army of order takers going from car to car to expidite things.

To get to the line for the drive in orders (what else now), you turn right off of
Whipple, it being a major freeway entrance and exit and frequently cars will be line up around the corner waiting in queue. Took a while to anticipate and deal with it.

Haven't sampled it yet.

? Had one what ? .

In-N-Out or Chick-Fil-A ? .

Chick-Fil-A can be very good ~ the first time I ever went was in the Del Amo Mall and the teenagers there gave us incredibly greasy inedible slop ~ we threw it out .

A couple years later my Sweet insisted we go to the new location and Lo ! it really was very good .

She had me take her to In-N-Out a recently, yes it's fresh and so on, still just another burger to me .

I will occasionally get the McD's bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit when I'm on the road, but that's it (Jack in the Box version maybe better). The coffee not great (will burn the hell out of your mouth though) but if I load it up with enough cream it's bearable.

Here's a Chick-fil-A fan, prolly half serious:

Post Topic Drift : Mickey D's

Yes, I think fast foods are carefully designed to please specific palates .

To - day, December 2nd, is the day McDonald's begins selling the McRib sandwich , I think Monsanto or DuPont actually makes them out of chemical waste, I doubt there's much meat of any sort in them however, every December I find I simply must got have or , sometimes two, them I'm good for another year .

I think back to 1969 and how I loved McDonalds and wonder how .

When I'm on the road I occasionally get their big breakfast and catch upon my E-Mail .

I like much of Jack In The Box's menu, my brother tells me their food is loaded with the chemical used in "Accent" - I forget the name of the stuff but it gives him terrible headaches .

Chick Fil A does not do anything for me. I think they are way over priced for what you get and the times I have had it (work has catered them in in for meals several times this year) I think it is way to salty.

Post Pricing

Agreed ~ far too $pendy .

I was charged $12 to eat at a fast food takeout not long ago, for under $20 I can get a better quality non frozen meal served to me by a waitress in a local diner....

I don't like too much plastic .

I tried Ruth's Chris once, it was nice but too snobby to my Blue Collar taste .

Same with Buco De Beppo .

When we go for burgers, we tend to go for the 'craft' burgers. There is a place close to us that serves a "Love Burger" Dam.... just looked it up and they closed. Crap.

Anyway, it was a cheese burger with bacon and instead of a bun, they took a glazed doughnut, sliced it in half, put it on the grill, and then used it as a bun. Holy crap was that a good burger.

There are a few other local places we like but this joint was one of my favorites. I'm going to shed a tear.

Also not a fan of the pricey joints. To much fan fair, not enough food and I have yet to be impressed by one.

False alarm. They changed names a while back and I forgot which name was which.

My dog loves In-N-Out, surprised him with a couple of Double Doubles after a long week of work.
